ABOUT US

Our History

At Platech, we work on the ex vivo generation of platelet-derived proteins through a disruptive bioprocess oriented toward synthetic biology. Since 2020, we have also supported companies seeking to integrate biotechnology into their industrial processes and strengthen their capabilities and infrastructure with advanced laboratory technologies.

2016 2015 2016
Platech was founded with the purpose of becoming a pioneer in biotechnology and bioprocesses in Chile. That same year, we obtained our first CORFO Seed Capital grant, a key support to begin development, buil capabilities, and validate our proof of concept.
2015 2016 2017
Laboratory-scale testing began, and we developed the first prototype of our technology for producing platelet-derived proteins. This stage allowed us to begin the technical validation of the platform and lay the foundations for its subsequent biotechnological development.
2016 2017 2018
We advanced the development of our platform at laboratory scale, strengthening the technical foundations of the project. We also began our first intellectual property strategy and obtained seed funding together with new CORFO support to continue growing.
2017 2018 2019
We complete our facilities and consolidate key capabilities for research, development, and technological validation. During this period, we identify valuable elements to protect our technology, advance patent filing, and validate our business model.
2018 2019 2020
We scaled our platform bioprocess to 1 liter, taking a relevant step toward more robust and reproducible processes. We also officially registered the Platech brand and advanced in a Pre-Series A round to support technological and commercial growth.
2019 2020 2021
We developed the first version of our human growth factors, incorporating documentation, traceability, and process control. That same year, we obtained new CORFO funding, strengthening the continuity of development and technological maturation.
2020 2021 2022
We continued developing our human growth factors, strengthening the technical maturation of the platform. During this period, we advanced our initial valuation model and incorporated new elements into our intellectual property strategy.
2021 2022 2023
We expanded our commercial area and began diversifying Platech’s business lines. We initiated specialized laboratory services, brand representation, and technical support for companies and institutions within the biotechnology ecosystem.
2022 2023 2024
Our platform reached industrial scale, enabling progress toward new products and biotechnological applications. We also obtained CORFO funding and bridge capital, key resources to drive Platech’s technological, productive, and commercial expansion.
2023 2024 2025
We produced our first recombinant proteins, marking a key milestone in the evolution of our human cell platform. This achievement expanded Platech’s technological potential and opened new opportunities for biotechnological applications
2024 2025 2026
We expanded our recombinant protein portfolio and began working with several early adopters interested in validating our technology. We also initiated a collaboration with Merck focused on the global validation of our platform.
